Awards: Recipient of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists’ “New Graduate 2020” Leadership Award for demonstrated strong and continued achievement, leadership and interest in the professional affairs of occupational therapy.
Sossy graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor and Master of Science before discovering the holistic profession of Occupational Therapy while working in pediatric neuro rehabilitation research. Her research experiences with teens and young adults led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Ottawa, so she could help them reach their best potential.
She is passionate about collaborating with youth with diverse abilities to help them strive within their environment and develop by doing what is meaningful to them. From a young age, she has worked with children of all ages as a babysitter, early childhood education assistant and has volunteered in scouting and hospital programs. She looks forward to providing OT services in French and English to families and children in Ottawa to enable them to live full and meaningful lives.
Sossy is dedicated to lifelong learning and is continuously engaging in professional development, research or teaching activities. She has obtained additional training in the CO-OP Approach, Collaborative Problem-Solving and Crisis Intervention to help support youth and the adults in their lives with an evidence-based practice. In her spare time, you can find Sossy hiking and enjoying nature, bouldering, attempting to bake intricate desserts, doing puzzles or playing with her tuxedo cat.
