Intensive therapy sounds like a scary option, but it is a superpower way to introduce new skills and ideas to your child. Intensive therapy is based on the idea that the brain remembers things better when it is taught over a period of time in repetitive, everyday fashion. Rapid integration allows children to accelerate their learning and skill development over the course of a number of days.
On the Ball offers 3, 5 and 10-day intensive programs where we work with your child on specific tasks or goals. We start with an initial evaluation of your child’s unique needs and assess what should be a priority for future betterment. Our programs use playful and engaging methods to motivate your child and deliver fast results. On the Ball’s mission is to create a secure and strong foundational skill set that your child can build independently upon regardless of where they may be in their development.
Intensive Programs for Cerebral Palsy (CP) and Genetic Conditions
Our intensive programs for children with cerebral palsy and genetic conditions use a systematic process for treatment. We use a combination of appropriate alignment of anatomical structures (the body parts) using support garments, biofeedback equipment, and positioning techniques.
We then work to strengthen key muscles to promote independence, central stability and function. With this newfound independence and confidence, your child can work on more complex functional activities to reinforce motor learning and long-term retention of each new motor plan.
Intensive Programs for ASD, Dyspraxia and SPD
Our intensive programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyspraxia and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) are designed to strengthen the foundation of motor learning in order to create space for success in learning cognitive and motor tasks.
We begin by assessing each child’s skills and develop an individualized, systematic style of therapy. Our team then utilizes primitive reflex integration and postural training to improve central stability, which ultimately leads to the ability to perform more complex, dynamic movement patterns.
