Neurodevelopmental Treatment
Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) is a specialized therapeutic approach to improve movement and functional abilities in children with neurological conditions. The approach is based on the principles of neuroplasticity, which refers to the brain's ability to reorganize and adapt. NDT involves a comprehensive assessment of the child's movement and functional abilities and an analysis of the underlying motor impairments.
Our highly trained pediatric physiotherapists and occupational therapists use specific handling techniques, guided movement, and therapeutic exercises to promote more normal movement patterns and improve the child's ability to control their movements. NDT is an individualized therapy tailored to each child's needs and abilities.
NDT is often provided with other types of therapy, such as sensory integration therapy, to help children achieve their therapy goals. Our therapists work closely with other healthcare professionals involved in the child's care to ensure comprehensive and coordinated treatment.
