About
Laura began her studies in occupational therapy driven by a desire to support individuals’ participation, independence and self-determination. Pursuing a career in OT as been extremely rewarding for Laura. After working with adults in their homes as a new graduate, Laura moved west to work in early intervention on Vancouver Island. It was there that her enthusiasm for working with children and their families grew. She believes in the strong influence of connection as a basis for regulation, learning through play, and the role these play in skill development. She is passionate about working alongside clients from a young age to support their wellbeing and success.
Laura has worked with clients with diverse experiences and has had opportunities to support their goals relating to sensory processing, fine motor development, regulation and activities of daily living. In recent years, she’s taken a special interest in neurodiversity affirming approaches and the development of early feeding skills. Her curiosity has led her to participate in training on a wide range of topics. She enjoys using this knowledge to provide individualized support to clients and their families.
